Meet the Team
Sam Baker
Sam has had a career in business and is now dedicated to climate action initiatives, running Walk2COP26 in 2021 and Walk2COP27 in 2022. He is an adviser to Business Declares and a trained facilitator in the Climate Fresk. Sam's primary motivations are to make up for decades ignoring and being ignorant of the climate emergency, and his two grandchildren. Seek him out for chats about veganism, CrossFit and Tanzania.
Léonie Osborne
In her long and fulfilling career as a Primary teacher and Headteacher, Léonie worked to enable children and young people to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes to grow as responsible citizens who actively respect and care for one another and the world in which they live. She is on the steering group for Croydon Climate Action and also a Trustee for the charity, Change Drivers.
Marley King
Marley is a community Activist, fighting social and economic injustice here in Croydon and worldwide. They have strong belief in inpowering those who feel powerless, strengthening community relationships and life long access to education. They are also a full time unpaid career and Special education school governor.
Connie Muir
Connie has a career in the energy industry, and most recently is supporting renewable energy cooperatives around the UK to grow and develop their projects. She is on the steering team for Croydon Climate Action, and is also the founder of Croydon Community Energy. She is a passionate climate activist and grew up in and around Croydon. Chris Connor
Chris' career background is in IT programme and project management. Chris has been a long term supporter of environmental causes and has lived in Croydon all his life. Chris is now able to spend more time supporting and taking part in environmental campaigns. Talk to Chris about walking and Crystal Palace FC.
Anna Orridge
Anna moved to Croydon in 2010, and has always been involved in environmental campaigning, volunteering with Sustainable Merton, Transition Towns and People and Planet in the past. She now works as Green Co-ordinator for the multi-academy trust the Harris Federation, and is particularly interested in boosting biodiversity on school grounds. In her spare time, she writes fiction and poetry, and is also enthused by the intersection of activism and the arts.
